Jordan Jimenez
This week we’re featuring a guy who not only has a love for fitted caps, but knows how to get the fits off with them as well. Jordan has built a connection with a few folks in the fitted hat community and his love for the 59Fifty shows. Let’s dive right in.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and when you fell in love with fitted caps?
Hello, my name is Jordan Jimenez. I am a Veteran of the United States Marine CorpStates who served from 2016-2022 with a honorable medical discharge. A couple hobbies of mine include going to the gym, bowling, playing video games, watching anime and collecting sneakers. I always had a passion for hats going back to my young days playing baseball wearing on-fields to then middle school time when Mitchell and Ness were going crazy with the snapbacks. Fast forward almost 10yrs to 2021 and I got introduced to fitted hats with side-patches and the creativity behind them and it was on from there.
How many caps do you currently have in your collection?
I started collecting hats based off designs that will go well with my sneakers, hats that had a certain inspiration behind it, and then I started veering off to only collecting my favorite team the Boston Red Sox for a bit. Now I tend to try and support designers that I know with their design drops more than anything, and the numbers can add up — which is why I have over 200 but under 300 in the collection.
When shopping for a new cap, what draws your attention?
As I been into collecting i have trickled down to a few main teams I tend to buy more which are Boston Redsox, Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Do you have any crazy stories or adventures for trying to purchase a cap?
Being in the fitted community has brought a lot of connections as i mentioned supporting fellow designers who I have built a connection with, to the point where a close group of friends and I flew from New Jersey to Chicago to show up and support one of our closest friends for a drop with Burdeens. The fitted community had brought us many trips from showing up to support friends for their drops to having our own drop in New York.
Are there any caps that you’re still on the hunt for?
There would be times where a certain hat would slip away and I wouldn't be able to get my size and ill try and spin the block for it but now if i miss it is what it is. I much rather put my own work out there no matter the outcome or grab one of my friends designs that I know I have a chance at securing and would mean more.
