We head up north for our latest collector feature. With an affinity towards Toronto, you won’t be surprised to learn what most of his fitted hats consist of. A staple in the community, let’s learn more about the homie Lambs.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and when you fell in love with fitted caps?

Hey my name is Liam, but everyone knows me as Lambs. I’m a pin creator and fitted collector hailing from Toronto, Canada. I would say I mostly collect Blue Jays caps, while recently I’ve started collecting Yard Goats as well. I honestly couldn’t pin point an exact moment I became a fitted lover — I have been wearing them most of my life. I do remember my first ever fitted hat I bought for myself though, it was 97-98 and I got the iconic red Yankees hat that Fred Durst wore. I have always been a hat guy since my earliest memories so I feel my love for them has been a lifelong affair.

How many caps do you currently have in your collection?

I have about 200 caps in my collection. I would say around 80% of that is Blue Jays caps, while the other 20% is a split amongst Yard Goats and the recent FNF projects being put out by members of the fitted community.

Why do you prefer fitted caps over any other hat style?

I only really wear fitted hats. I personally don’t like the straps on the snap back, the way it feels, and just its overall look. I also grew up in the early 2000’s where a flat brim fitted was the only acceptable head garment to wear.

When shopping for a new cap, what draws your attention?

When I’m shopping for a cap now it has to be something unique in order to draw my attention. Whether it’s a creative and cohesive colour way or use of brand new logos and materials. It’s always something I’m looking for to diversify my collection.

Do you have any crazy stories or adventures for trying to purchase a cap?

Hats have been a staple in my attire for years. So I have plenty of stories from saving them being dunked into the lake or using them to catch a ball at the Jays game but, the one I think that solidifies my love for hats is the fact that I even wore a Blue Jays fitted to my high school prom. Even made sure it was a perfect match to the suit!

What cap have you been reaching for the most lately?

I’ve been reaching for Yard Goats specifically, just something about their logos that draws me in. I also have been liking any cap with a good M letter block because it ties well with my pin theme I have created.

Are there any caps that you’re still on the hunt for?

My own. I’m on the hunt to make my own. It’s been a goal of mine and only recently have I started pushing out my own ideas to try and create a cap that’s my own unique design.

Last, is there anything you want to see more of when it comes to fitted hats?

I wouldn’t really say there is anything I want to see more of. Personally I feel the community is in a good direction, there is a lot of great designs being made and a lot of selection. There is really something for everyone now and the choices are endless.
